After a year of college, Dennis was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the U.S. Army Security Agency.
Dennis returned to college after fulfillment of his military obligations and began apprenticing with a national design-build firm specializing in out-patient medical facilities.
His first architectural experience was with a national design-build company specializing in out-patient medical facilities. The company's prior relationship with architect Frank Lloyd Wright not only inspired creativity, but also instilled the requirement for satisfying a client's needs.
After graduation, he continued working with this company and was promoted to the position of head of design for the southeast division design department.
Due to state requirements for registration at that time, Dennis was mandated to train under a "typical" architectural firm. He left the Design-Build company and joined a local architectural firm. His duties there included design, construction documents, specifications writing and construction administration of a wide variety of projects including postal service, hotels, and schools.
In 1985 he formed his Architectural Firm - Dennis L. Norton Architect. Due to a downturn in the economy in the Atlanta area in the early 1990s, he was forced to close his business. However, he re-established his firm in July 2000.

We believe that our services should be tailored to the needs of the Client and not push the Client for more services than are necessary.
We provide a wide variety of services ranging from simple permit plans for tenant build-outs to full service competitive bid projects to Design-Build Services.
